WIP Dai Fu Mask

Eventually we have chosen the squared version of the Dai Fu Lou paper head because the it represented the original more. So from a small cut out template we went to 1:1 scale to fit on our heads. First we printed out the template we made before of the small version however because now it does not fit on an A4 we used the options to print it over multiple pages and paste it back together again.

Before this we actually made a box around one of us to make a basic measurement of one head, and calculated it over on to the template so we would know how big it should be. Placing the loose piece of the template together is not that hard but needs allot of measurings to straighten everything out. After we placed all the pieces of the template together we past the template onto a big curated cardboard box and made sure the pieces stick together properly.

Then we could start cutting out the template from the cardboard and cause we glued the template one the cardboard it would not move while you cut it to make sure your cuts are precise. To hold the parts together you need to cut a fold link a bit and it should fold much easier then just trying to force it by hand.

And here we got the total folded first Dai Fu Lou mask made from cardboard, the only hard bits that were to fold were the rounded sides, cause we forgot which direction to place the template but it was fairly easy to force it into that shape.

Here testing out the Dai Fu Mask one some special movements, also the first box we had made of one of our head is placed inside the Dai Fu Mask so we could actually more the mask in the same was as our head, cause without the box our heads would move freely inside the mask. Next thing to do is to add some colors and faces onto the mask, however we will show that in the second part of WIP Dai Fu Mask.
